In this auction I offer +40 eggs of Austrolebias paucisquama 'TT Sao Sepe DN 2009-08 (Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil).
This species belongs to the Austrolebias alexandri species-group, by sharing the bright blue iridescence and dark gray pectoral fins in males. But the lack of contact organs on the inner surface of the pectoral fin in males and the color pattern of females distinguish A. paucisquama from all other Austrolebias.
A. paucisquama was recorded only from a temporary pool, without the proximity of a permanent water flow, in the altitude of 154 m and close to an area of extensive use as pasture. This situation places this species as a critically endangered species (Ferrer ,Malabarba and Costa, 2008) so its captive maintenance in our tanks is very important.
A. paucisquama are very easy to keep and breed. Cold-resistant species, suitable for unheated aquariums. The fry eat brine shrimp from birth.
I will send the eggs the next days after the payment arrive (Paypal only + 6% fee). The shipping will cost 8 Euro for European countries and 14 Euro worldwide. I can't be responsible for hatching rates, sex-ratio, possible belly-sliders, dissolved eggs on arrival, overheating or undercooling, customs issues, damage to packaging and unexpected problems during transport. I don't ship to Brazil.
Happy bidding and fishkeeping. Enjoy the hobby!
