Description

In this � auction I offer 125 eggs of Nematolebias whitei 'S�o Pedro da Aldeia' (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).

This species inhabited temporary pools along the coastal plains near San Pedro de Aldeia. It was believed, until 1974, that the species had practically disappeared, when an American killifish breeder, AL Semeit, rediscovered it 10 km north of the intersection of the highway to Victoria and Cabo Frio, in San Pedro de Aldeia. Now it seems that this particular population may be extinct in the wild so its captive maintenance in our tanks is really important.

N. whitei are very easy to keep and breed. Cold-resistant species, suitable for unheated aquariums. The fry eat brine shrimp from birth.
