Description

IMPORTANT: I ship to the address provided in your payment. If paying by paypal, please, please make sure that shipping address is correct before clicking the send button. Shipping days get hectic, and it's easy to miss requests to ship elsewhere. Thanks...

Auction is for a week's spawn from a breeder colony of the beautiful killifish Fundulopanchax amieti c 89/31 Edea-Yaound 18km, packed in peat for travel. A semi-annual killie, incubation time has been about 4-5 weeks dry. Fry are reasonable large, and accept newly hatched baby brine shrimp and microworms immediately, and will accept fine pellets and crushed flake food. Additional eggs available.

Title picture is of male from preceding generation; females as usual show very little color or markings. An easy killifish to keep, and moderately easy to breed. Great jumpers; keep 'em covered.

How many fry should you expect? I check to make sure there are eggs in each bag before shipping, but I generally can't tell how many there might be. In addition, some eggs will perish during the perils of bagging, shipping and storage. My goal is to have you hatch enough to maintain the species, and hopefully more than you know what to do with. See the "Replacement" section below if you have poor results.

I incubate these the same as I do Blue Gularis and other semi-annuals, but with the shorter incubation time. Download my guide: Hatching Blue Gularis Eggs

Parameters: I don't use heaters, so tanks are in the low 70s in winter and high 70s in summer. Our water is moderately hard (140mg/l) with a pH of 7.5, and I add one tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5 gallons. I've never checked it myself, but a couple of buyers report my water arrives with a TDS of 900-1000 ppm.

Shipping: I ship to US only; shipping may need to be coordinated around weather and postal holidays. Eggs usually ship the Saturday, Monday; or Tuesday after payment clears to reduce risk of spending a weekend parked outside some postal sorting station. Please include $10.00 per shipment for Priority Mail. Multiple egg purchases can be shipped together or eggs can ship with fish for no additional shipping charge.

Payment: please pay by money order or paypal within 3 days of purchase. The email address that Aquabid provides in the winning bidder notice is my paypal address, so if you know your total, feel free to pay before contacting me. Otherwise, I usually send out an email within a day of auction end. If you prefer to pay by money order, the Aquabid address is again correct; please let me know when money order is in the mail. I am often looking to clear tanks to make room for the next hatch, so prompt payment is always appreciated.

Replacement: Some eggs do not survive the rigors of shipping. If you get a zero or meager hatch after their due date, I will either replace or refund the price of the eggs. The most dangerous part of their trip is often the time spent sitting in the mailbox or on the porch. If you unable to be home for mail delivery, please consider having the parcel held at your local post office for you to pick up. Shipping charges are not refundable.
