Description

A week's spawn of this beautiful killifish in peat. If previous batches are any indication, I would expect two dozen fry or more to hatch, sometimes many more. Please note: these eggs were recently picked, and their incubation time is usually 2-3 months, so under normal conditions they won't be ready to hatch for quite some time.

Pictured is an adult male of this strain, from a previous generation. Females, as usual, have very little coloration or markings.

This is among the easiest South American Annual killifish to keep and breed. I start the fry out on paramecium, then move them up to newly hatched brine shrimp after a few days. I also usually add a bit of java moss to the hatching container to theoretically provide a continuous source of infusoria. As they grow, they will accept most frozen "meaty" foods like brine shrimp, bloodworms, and mysis, and will even accept some flake and small pellets. They of course relish live brine shrimp and blackworms as well.

This is a true "annual" killifish, with a normal lifespan of 6 months or so, though some hobbyists report keeping some for more than a year. Hopefully by then you will have put away some of your own eggs, so you can repeat the process 6 months down the road.

Shipping: I ship to US only; shipping may need to be coordinated around weather and postal holidays. Eggs usually ship the Monday or Saturday after payment clears to reduce risk of spending a weekend parked outside some postal sorting station. Please include $4 for First Class or $8 for Priority Mail. Multiple egg purchases can be shipped together for no additional postage.

Payment by money order or paypal.

Please note: I ship to the address provided in your payment. If paying by paypal, please, please make sure that shipping address is correct. Shipping days get hectic, and it's easy to miss requests to ship elsewhere. Thanks...
