Description

IMPORTANT: I ship to the address provided in your payment. If paying by paypal, please, please make sure that shipping address is correct before clicking the send button. Shipping days get hectic, and it's easy to miss requests to ship elsewhere. Thanks...

Eight baby Aphanius mento, each about 1/2" long and still uncolored. I can't promise how many of each sex you might get, but last generation was about 50/50, so hopefully you'll get some of each.

A very pretty strain; fish from this location have also been identified as A. sophiae and A. similis, all of the "mento complex". Males get jet black, covered with blue-white sparkles. Picture is of a male from a previous generation. They look especially spectacular in a planted tank in sunlight or bright LED lighting. Females, as usual, have very little coloration or markings.

Mento prefer harder water, so they do well in tanks where a lot of other killies languish. Mine are in moderately hard water, ph about 7.6, tablespoon per five gallons of non-iodized salt. They are not particularly temperature sensitive; I keep mine at room temperature, ranging from upper 60s to upper 70s. Shipping: I ship to US only; shipping may need to be coordinated around weather and postal holidays. Fish usually ship the Monday or Tuesday after payment clears to reduce risk of spending a weekend parked outside some postal sorting station. Please include $17.00 for Priority Mail or $45 for Express Mail. Multiple fish or egg purchases can be shipped together for no additional shipping charge.

Payment: please pay by money order or paypal within 3 days of purchase. The email address that Aquabid provides in the winning bidder notice is my paypal address, so if you know your total, feel free to pay before contacting me. Otherwise, I usually send out an email within a day of auction end. If you prefer to pay by money order, the Aquabid address is again correct; please let me know when money order is in the mail. I am often looking to clear tanks to make room for the next hatch, so prompt payment is always appreciated.
