A week's spawn of this beautiful killifish in peat. If previous batches are any indication, I would expect one or two dozen fry to hatch, sometimes many more. Please note: these eggs were recently picked, and their incubation time is usually about 3 months, so under normal conditions they won't be ready to hatch for quite some time. Pictured is an adult male of this strain, from a previous generation. Females, as usual, have very little coloration or markings.
This is a moderately easy South American Annual killifish to keep and breed. Fry are usually large enough to accept newly hatched brine shrimp immediately. I also usually add a bit of java moss to the hatching container to theoretically provide a continuous source of infusoria. As they grow, they will accept most frozen "meaty" foods like brine shrimp, bloodworms, and mysis, and will even accept some flake and small pellets. They of course relish live brine shrimp and blackworms as well.
Shipping: I ship to US only; shipping may need to be coordinated around weather and postal holidays. Eggs usually ship the Monday or Saturday after payment clears to reduce risk of spending a weekend parked outside some postal sorting station. Please include $4 for First Class or $8 for Priority Mail. Multiple egg purchases can be shipped together for no additional postage.
Payment by money order or paypal.
Please note: I ship to the address provided in your payment. If paying by paypal, please, please make sure that shipping address is correct. Shipping days get hectic, and it's easy to miss requests to ship elsewhere. Thanks...
