Description

IMPORTANT: I ship to the address provided in your payment. If paying by paypal, please, please make sure that shipping address is correct before clicking the send button. Shipping days get hectic, and it's easy to miss requests to ship elsewhere. Thanks...

Please note: sjoestedti eggs have a well deserved reputation for unpredictability. Some bags get great hatches, others get zero. My goal is for you to get at least 6 fry; if we fail to get that, feel free to contact me for a re-shipment or refund of the egg price (shipping is not refundable). I will put at least 25 eggs that are at least 3 days old into peat moss. The dry incubation time can be anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks.

Pictured is an adult male of this strain, from a previous generation. Females, as usual, have very little coloration or markings. These guys get quite large, about 6" on the males, and as they grow, the males go through several changes in color and pattern.

I start fry out on newly hatched brine shrimp. I also usually add a bit of java moss to the hatching container to theoretically provide a continuous source of infusoria. As they grow, they will accept most frozen "meaty" foods like brine shrimp, bloodworms, and mysis, and will even accept some flake and small pellets. They of course relish live brine shrimp and blackworms as well.

Cold Weather Shipping: I ship to US only; shipping may need to be coordinated around weather and postal holidays. Eggs usually ship the Monday or Tuesday after payment clears to reduce risk of spending a weekend parked outside some postal sorting station. Please include $8 for Priority Mail. Multiple egg purchases can be shipped together for no additional postage.

Payment by money order or paypal.
