Aplocheilus lineatus Gold - Eggs This offer is for 15+ eggs of amazing West African killifish -Fundulopanchax scheeli originated from small streams of coastal rainforest east of the lower Cross River in South Eastern Nigeria. This is one of easiest killies to keep and breed. If you feed those well parents do not bother eggs or fry, though larger fry may eat younger fry. They are very peaceful and interesting to watch. Fundulopanchax scheeli prefer bottom mop to floating one. It is best spawned in trios of one male to two females in a medium aquarium of around 30 40 litres. It is recommended using a small, air-driven sponge filter to prevent water stagnation. The aquarium can be unlit or moderately illuminated.
The fish should be conditioned on a varied diet of foods, though live food is always preferred. Keep the two sexes apart in separate conditioning tanks and select the best male and plumpest females, before placing them in the spawning tank. This method allows females to recover between spawnings. Each trio should only be allowed to spawn for a week or so before being returned to the conditioning tank. The spawning process is hard on the fish (particularly the females) and they can become fatigued and weak if left for too long.
The fry are medium in size and can be fed BBS or Microworms right after hatching with the introduction of larger and frozen varieties after 2 - 3 weeks. Extreme care must be taken regarding water quality in the raising tank. The fry should be fed twice a day with small water changes every 2 - 3 days for the best growth. Growth is rapid with sexing out starting after about 4 - 5 weeks. Larger fish should be moved on to another tank as they can eat smaller fry. Velvet is a common killer of fry & should be looked for. Add 1 teaspoon of sea salt per 4 litre of water for both adults and fry.

The eggs are posted in a peat moss enclosed in a plastic bag which is placed in a padded bubble envelope. Unfortunately I can't guarantee the hatching, hatch rate, sex ratio, etc. The storage conditions during transportation are out of my control. Please make sure before bidding that the temperature is not too cold at your area. Important: I don't refund money or re-send another pack of eggs if the package is lost in the post, seized by customs of your country, the eggs are dissolved in peat moss for whatever reason, or you did something wrong and couldn't manage to hatch the fry. Please check the eggs on arrival so that if they dissolve later due to wrong incubation conditions or any other reason, you don't tell me that there were no eggs. It's not my responsibility, you deal with mother nature! Please read appropriate literature, study various Internet sources dedicated to killifishes before ordering the eggs. Apart from all other things I am a very busy person and I can not physically give instructions to everyone on how to hatch, keep and breed killifishes. Ordering eggs from me you completely agree with all my statements. I hope on your understanding. The eggs are sent from Glasgow (Scotland). All prices are listed in British Pounds (GBP). Delivery within the UK is 3.00 GBP, Europe - 7.00 GBP, other countries - 8.00 GBP. Thanks for looking, happy bidding and enjoy your hobby!
