Auction is for one nice young pair (1 male + 1 female) of the beautiful Blue Gularis killifish Fundulopanchax sjoestedti Oteri CI 2021. They are about 1.5" long as of this writing, just beginning to color up. Pictures are of adults from a previous generation (sorry for the low quality images). The winning bidder may also purchase one additional pair.

A fairly new Gularis strain. Males get quite large, sometimes over 6 inches, with that nice trident tail. Their coloration leans more toward browns, greens and black, but still a quite attractive fish. Females as usual have little color. I have found these to be among the easiest gularis to breed: they have a good fertility, and a shorter dry incunbation time (sometimnes as short as 4 to 6 weeks). They eat flake, pellet, live and frozen foods (brine, bloodworms, blackworms) voraciously. Great jumpers; keep 'em covered.

Parameters: I don't use heaters, so tanks are in the low 70s in winter and high 70s in summer. Our water is moderately hard (140mg/l) with a pH of 7.5, and I add one tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5 gallons. TDS is about 200 out of the tap, but my addition of salt brings it up to 1000 or so.

Shipping: In winter months, I prefer to ship fish by Express Mail only, due to frequent delays with Priority Mail. Express Mail usually runs anywhere between $45 and $85, depending on weight and your distance from Milwaukee. Please email a list of fish you wish to purchase and your ZIP code, and I will get you a quote.

Payment: please pay by paypal within 3 days of purchase. I usually send out an email within a day of auction end, but feel free to email whenever you wish. I would prefer to send a paypal invoice, so please let me know your quantity and shipping choices. I am often looking to clear tanks to make room for the next hatch, so prompt payment is always appreciated.

Replacement: FOR EXPRESS MAIL ONLY: In the unlikely event that fish perish during shipping, I will either replace or refund the price of the fish, provided that you let me know of the loss within two hours of the time tracking shows delivery. The most dangerous part of their trip is often the time spent sitting in the mailbox or on the porch. If you unable to be home for mail delivery, please consider having the parcel held at your local post office for you to pick up. Shipping charges are not refundable.
