Description

You are buying a group of 7 adult male clown killifish (Epiplatys annulatus. Clown killifish are also called rocket killifish or banded panchax. Clown killifish grow to 1.4" and are perfect for a nano or planted aquarium. They prefer to swim in the top 1/3 of the tank and are adept jumpers so your tank must have a lid. They do not require a heater and will happily live in water that is 67-80 F (19-26 C).

These rocket killifish are eating finely crushed flake food. I will include food with the fish.

Males have distinct dark bands on their bodies that alternate with tannish-yellow. Their vivid flame-like tails feature bright blue, orange, and yellow. Streaks of yellow adorn their dorsal and anal fins. Large males may sport a red edge on their anal fin. Male clown killifish have brilliant bright blue eyes that stand out against your tank background. Females lack the vivid reds, blues, and yellows that the males possess but they still display the distinctive vertical bands of dark brown and tannish yellow.

Male rocket killifish can be kept together. Males will display their fins to one another to establish dominance and may chase each other.
