Description

This auction is for a beautiful little Notho, N. foerschi "Ruvu" TZN 17-9. You will receive 2 males and 2 females, not necessarily the one in the photo, but ones from the same batch. I hatched these fish from some great eggs I got from HKA earlier this year (Thank you Andras!), and I have so many I'm selling off a few. This is a very pretty fish and is easy to breed, too! Just give them peat moss to lay their eggs in, harvest the peat every few weeks, squeeze the water out, and store it moist for 3 months. The fish you will be buying are young, just about three months old and around an inch long for the males and half that for the females, but they are already breeding for me. When you buy them young you get more time to breed them, and they ship better and get used to your water quicker. Speaking of water, I use 1/2 tsp. of marine salt per gallon of water, since Nothos are very susceptible to Velvet. Otherwise water chemistry is not that important, although the water they are in is pH7.4 and 150ppm. They are eating flake food and adult frozen brine shrimp. When you get them give them peat right away and you WILL get eggs!
