Description

1 young pair of dayi. I picked-up an adult trio of these guys in fall as part of an import. The adult fish are pictured. The fish you are bidding on are about half-grown(1.25") and developing the adult coloration. I took them home to id them because they were not identified as part of the shipment. I placed them in a bare 10 gallon with floating and sinking mops. I had to add some mops to break-up sight lines because they are a bit aggressive with each other. Not to the extent that they damage each other, but they are constantly chasing. I fed them Tetramin flake, frozen brine shrimp and frozen bloodworms and they were easily spawned. They produce large eggs that I hand picked from the mops and water incubated. I added a drop of methylene blue and the eggs hatched in about 2 weeks. Free swimming fry are large and take live baby brine immediately. They also eat 5-50 micron golden pearls and microworms. Growth is slow but steady. I keep them in hard Lake Erie water at 68-70 degrees. I have a few young pairs left but will not be working with them any longer. Shipping is $15 non-refundable on top of the winning bid. It includes an insulated box and necessary heat pack(s) to get your fish to you in excellent condition. This auction will close Saturday 3/7 and ship Monday 3/9.
