Description

2 adult pairs of Aplocheilus Blockii. Adult male is pictured. These are a harder to find mop spawner. They are similar in habits and size to Epiplatys Dageti. In the winter my fish room cools down and my water temperature is about 68 degrees. While Dageti are cold hardy, the Blockii appreciate some heat. Mid 70�s works well. At cooler temperatures egg production tapers-off. I keep a couple pairs in a bare 10 gallon with some floating and sinking yarn mops. I hand pick eggs and water incubate. Eggs hatch in about 10-14 days. Free swimming fry will eat newly hatched baby brine shrimp, but I think they feed better on microworms for the first couple weeks. They are expert jumpers so be careful during water changes. Adults are not picky. I feed mine Tetramin flake, frozen brine shrimp, chopped bloodworms and occasionally live white worms. Sex ratio is about even. My water is hard Lake Erie tap water. Shipping is $15 non-refundable on top of the winning bid. This auction will ship Saturday 1/19.
