Description

Auction is for a group of 6 unsexed, F2, Oryzias eversi rice fish from Sulawesi, sized at 3/4� TL. Named in honor of Hans-Gorg Evers who found them in 2010. There is an article on these on pages 18 of the Nov/Dec 2012 issue of AMAZONAS Magazine. These are probably the first time they have been seen in the USA as Hans brought them over to me in November of 2012 and I�m sure the first time offered on AquaBid. These are pelvic brooders; where the female carries the eggs which are attached to a string filament between her pelvic fins. You can see in my photo the parents of the fish you are getting, the male in his dark breeding colors and a female carrying her eggs. They grow much larger than other rice fish, reaching just over 2� when full grown. These are tank raised fish, spawned and raised in our own hatchery, NOT stressed out, emaciated imported fish (which are often misidentified) that just arrived in the USA and are ready to die! Only method of shipping offered is USPS Express Shipping for a flat rate of $36.00, this includes an insulated box and heat packs if needed. Email me your zip code for a shipping time if need be. In areas where the outside temperatures are still crazy cold, I do recommend using the �Hold� at office option that USPS offers. This means that the US Postal Service will hold the package at their office, which is often close to you, and you will have to pick up the package yourself. This prevents the fish from being driven around all day in a freezing cold delivery truck which could lead to possible problems. My concern when shipping is for the welfare of the fish�.not human convenience or cost savings. I personally will go the extra step to ensure what is best for the fish whether I�m shipping them or receiving them. Live delivery will be guaranteed, as long as someone is present to receive & sign for shipment on the first delivery attempt. Live delivery is guaranteed to you, but I DO NOT GUARANTEE THE DELIVERY TIME!
