***WINTER WEATHER***
Check your weather Wednesday thru Friday of the upcoming week - about when your shrimp would arrive. If the overnight lows are below freezing do not order. The most dangerous time for a shipment is when out for delivery - your weather must be mild at that time. Consider having your package held for pick up at your local post office.

Every shrimp we offer is a product of our fishroom.
Every shrimp will be young, healthy, and look appealing. We only ship perfect looking shrimp!!!
They will range in size from a large grain of rice to young adult.
We try our best to catch slightly more females than males.
It�s common to receive baby shrimp that were incidentally caught. They are not included in the count.

We include a random plant-start for your shrimp to cling onto during transit. You are welcome to select the plants. If you�ve ordered from us previously, select several. Here is the plant list link: Free Plant List

SHIPPING:
Shrimp are shipped in 1 & 2 liter plastic bottles placed into a USPS flat rate bag. Why? Soda/water bottles are shatter resistant and hold substantially more water; reducing stress, water toxicity, and the additional volume of water protects against sudden thermal changes. This method of shipping may seem odd, but a plastic bottle isn�t much different than a plastic bag - other than having the ability to hold substantially more air & water.

We don�t use heat packs. Shrimp, being an invertebrate, are hardy to cooler winter temperatures. Heat packs cause as many problems as they solve. If your temperatures are so cold a heat pack would be necessary - we recommend you simply wait for milder temperatures.

When transitioning do so in the bottle. If there are plants in the bottle, pick them out beforehand.

The most vulnerable time for a package is when out for delivery. Leave your mail carrier a message that you are expecting a highly perishable package, and to deliver it to your door with a knock.
