Description

These crayfish are the ultimate replenishing live feeder foods! They are non-demanding of their environment. These gals eat everything - I mean everything. I feed peas, green beans, broccoli, squash, celery etc. They will feed off of anything they can snag - fish included!

Their color is affected by their diet. However, don't expect them to be bright blue, red, orange or such colors. I have had mine be light yellow'ish at best to dark greens/browns with hues of reds/blues. They are feeders - remember!

These cray WILL chomp down on live plants! They love to devastate swords at the crown while eating at the new growth and roots. That's how they roll. They are in heaven with a large bunch of hornwort. Snails ... did I mention they LOVE snails? Well, they do. A tank with snails will be shortly eradicated of its snail population.

Now for the specifics ... they are all female and will reproduce via cloning. Once the cray is ~1.25+", she will begin to produce offspring at random intervals. You will know this is occurring when she's trying to be discrete [i.e. hiding] and has her tail tucked to protect the eggs. The eggs are initially black but will mature into baby cray which will all be female. The cycle will repeat with the original cray and her offspring.

ABSOLUTE care must be taken to NOT introduce these cray into ANY waterway - this includes the toilet or sink. Because of their ability to clone themselves, they can seriously create havoc with another ecosystem. Responsible ownership is critical! I only clean my tank via bucket so that I can insure that I can recover any accidental cray "sucked up" in my siphon tube. Even my power filters are dumped into a bucket when cleaning them because usually the very small, newly hatched cray will be there too! They have been known to cross land barriers to get to another waterway.

In Summary: These crayfish breed in freshwater. Newly hatched/released cray are less than 5mm long and are very soft - great feeders for smaller chiclids with larger ones being equally great feeders for larger fish. They are omnivores and consume algae, plants, veggies and any fish food they can find or scavenge.

Water Parameters~

pH: don't care!

Temperature: 65-82 ... higher temps may "cook" them :(

Lifespan: 1-2.5 years

Size: ~3.5

Diet: Omnivore

Ideal Temperature:74

Skill Level: Beginner

Temperament: Generally peaceful but can be aggressive depending on space and food supply - they are opportunistic!

Plants: These gals will shred and consume live plants if not provided alternatives in sufficient quantity - they may still like the live plants!

Snails: There isn't a snail that these gals don't like ... Mmmmm Mmmmm GOOD ... If your snails are wanted, don't share space.

How do I ship your crayfish~ I WILL NOT ship cray these to Washington, California or Hawaii due to state regulations. I take shipping of the crayfish very seriously and every effort is made to ensure they arrive with you in the same strong and healthy condition as they were sent in. I will place them in a breather bag to ensure that they are not stressed in transit [FYI - they are not easily stressed].

The breather bag ensures plenty of oxygen in the water while cushioning them from bumps in travel. The crayfish will be shipped with something included [e.g. bean, pea] to keep its interest in transit. Crayfish are much happier when they have something to hold on to and the snack provides cushioning and stability for them. The bag is placed in a small strong cardboard with plenty of insulation to protect them. The cardboard box provides insulation as well. The crayfish are then sent via USPS Priority Mail.

I recommend that you acclimate your crayfish before placing them in their new home.

Shipping via USPS Priority mail rate: $15 - $30

Temperature : 60F - 82F

Live Arrival Guarantee 100% Live Arrival Guarantee on EVERY order if the following conditions are met : Package must be delivered on first delivery attempt. A clear photo of unopened breather bag next to my shipping label within 2 hours of delivery confirmation must be sent to my email. I will send replacement or offer credit for the deceased crayfish. This does not include shipping costs. Heat pack required ($2.00 each) when ambient night and day temps are below 50 F Day and 30 F Night, no exceptions. Summer time cool pack required on all shipments over 85 degrees ($2.00 each). Number of Heat Pack or Cool Packs determined by shipment size. I ship Fish on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday ONLY. Shipments can be delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. I reserve the right to delay shipping due to hot or cold weather! No crayfish will be shipped when National Holiday falls within the middle of the week or where their appropriate scheduled arrival is questionable. Additional crayfish when available, are at the bid price.

Thank you for your consideration! Please email me with any questions! I want all my cray to arrive safe and healthy.
