Description

Procambarus vasquezae, Big Claw blue crayfish. $40/6 very little guys. This auction is for 6 very young crayfish, expect them to be less than 3/4 inches each. The strain of P vasquezae that I have has a blue coloration. It seems deeper blue in the thorax and front half of the cray. The tail is still blue, but you can see some indication of brown there. The blue is nice but not nearly as intense as my Electric Blue P alleni crays. In my experience, the Big Claw shrimp gets to be about 3 inches in length and will coexist with 4-5 in a 10 gallon tank with lots of hiding places. It would probably be better to house them in a 15 gallon tank, or maybe larger. I use slate pieces, halved clay pots, larger stones, and thumbnail sized gravel. The crayfish will redecorate the tank to their liking. So make sure stacked stones have a solid base and are not just put on the gravel. They do like to hide, but you will see them out quite a bit. Expect some aggression during mating and sometimes a cray will lose a claw. The claws will grow back with the molts. To reduce the aggression, I like to have triple the amount of hiding spots for each cray, so 5 crays need 15 hiding spots. The hiding spots dont need to be large. I also add Killiefish mops made of acrylic yarn. Some float and some I sink to give an escape to a cray that needs it. ********ABOUT ME: It has been a while since I've listed Aquabid. A career and kids slowed the hobby down a bit, but here I am again. All of my fish and shrimp are basement born and bred. I hope you enjoy them. Cheers. ********POLICIES: Paypal preferred. I generally ship on the Monday following cleared Paypal funds. If you need another shipping time, contact me and we can try to work that out. If you are looking for a quantity greater than what I have listed, send me a note, I may be able to discount the additional stock if I have it available. The livestock may be shipped to you with plants and, plant inhabiting hitchhikers, in the bag. Water parameters if not stated are: 100ppm TDS and 7.2 pH. ********SHIPPING: Priority shipping to the lower 48, only please. On the rare occasion that the livestock doesnt make it to you in good shape, here are the general guidelines. Items are usually shipped via USPS priority mail in insulated cardboard box in breather bags. Live arrival is guaranteed when the USPS gets them there within 72 hours or less and delivered on the first try. Guarantee requires a picture of the unopened shipping bag within an hour of shipment arrival. Guarantee applies to the livestock and not the shipping, meaning that if you want replacements and not a prorated credit, there will be additional shipping costs paid by the buyer before shipment. I sometimes ship extras, the guarantee is on the agreed on purchase amount, not the extras
