That's my dog Datsun and I in front of the greenhouse at the farm...
50 LIVE SCUDS Hyalella azteca with FREE SHIPPING
FREE SHIPPING 48 States (Continental US), ALL Box Charges and Handling FREE and Included!

This is an auction for a minimum of 50 LIVE SCUDS, Hyalella azteca (AKA Gammarus) that I've bred and raised at my farm. These are an easy small freshwater amphipod invertebrate that looks a lot like a miniture shrimp. They are fun to watch because they are very active and often you'll see them attached to each other while swimming about. I culture some of them in with Sakura Shrimp. They are a great live food and may also be used to enhance filtration systems. They are tolerant to extremes in heat, cold, ph, high bacteria count, low O2 etc. They are much easier to culture than Daphnia. I feed them a pinch of the powdered millings from the bottom of a flake food container as well as from the bottom of the bag of algae wafers each day. As a treat they like thread algae too. If grown outdoors, provide them with some shade. The photographs taken below are of some of my SCUDS growing in a 10 gallon aquarium. They grow and multiply fast in warm conditions and are very easy to care for and can adapt to any water conditions. They grow much faster when the temperature of the water is at least 75 degrees. I use them in almost all of my livebearer aquariums and sometimes are used as food for vegetarian cichlids whenever I thin them out. They are also great for cycling new tanks. They seem to enjoy having a bit of Duckweed to hang on to. They are a great beginners invertabrate as well as a basic necessity for advanced Freshwater Aquarist. I'll send you some very nice healthy Scuds. Visit my 'Justme' Page for more info. I'll be glad to combine any other items you may be interested in purchasing from my farm to minimize your shipping cost. See availability list below for other items available. I welcome any questions, Thanks, Mitchell, LiveFins Fish Farm, Brooksville, Florida 34604.
