Description

Auction is for 25 yellow shrimp. They will be at least a half inch long. They are healthy, active and a very bright yellow. Their parents are almost an inch long.

I'll put in four extras just in case of DOAs.

They are healthy and living in tap water. I don't use Prime or other chemicals. They get foods and supplements (Mosura Gravidas, BT, Shrimpton and Tonic Pro; BorneoWild Shield), plus spirulina flakes, freeze dried blood worms and algae discs. They LOVE lightly cooked organic spinach, and will eat kale too.

Shipping is $12. These will ship priority mail in two Kordon breather bags. I'll put in a few strands of anacharis for the shrimps to hold on to during transit.

I ship Mondays and Wednesdays ONLY. You'll get a tracking number.

SOME CARE TIPS: Acclimating them is pretty easy. I empty the bag into a clean glass bowl, then immediately fill the bag with some tank water and rinse it out again. There's always one shrimp that tries to cling to the bag, so the rinsing is important.

Once everybody's in the bowl, just add a cup of water every ten minutes or so. After the 2nd or 3rd cup they're good to go into the tank.

They're really tough, and you'll get four extras.

If you've got fish in the tank, they will eat some of the shrimp. But so long as the plant growth is thick and/or you've got some shrimp tubes, you can definitely still establish a colony. I have a 55 gallon tank with some cherry shrimp in it, along with six german blue rams and a slew of guppies. Many of the babies do get eaten, but the adults are left alone. Also, if you've got some driftwood, especially Malaysian driftwood, they seem to really like hanging out on that.

VERY IMPORTANT: Do not put plant fertilizers in the tank. I used to use fertilizers to grow the plants, but the shrimp colony never really took off until I stopped. Now they are as prolific as mice.

They're coming from a 20 gallon tank.

Water has ph 7.6 or so, gh about 8. Temp is low 70s. I do a 20% water change every 2 weeks.

Any questions, please ask!
