Description

Triops mauritanicus. Originally established as a species by Ghigi (1921) it was later treated as a subspecies of T. cancriformis (Longhurst 1955), but has been returned to full species status (Korn et al. 2006). Very beautiful triops, one distinguishing characteristic is small spikes on the tail where the teslons begin, quite unique.
