Nestled in the mountains of West Virginia, a warm mineral spring gurgles up through rocks in Berkeley Springs. George Washington once bathed there. The water comes up at 74 degrees year-round and is laden with minerals that prevent populations of local fishes to survive in the balmy springs. Forty years ago, give or take, wild-type guppies were introduced to the springs and have thrived as a completely isolated population. Offered for sale are 12+ mixed ages and sexes from our colony of Berkeley Springs guppies. More are available at the winning auction price. These show a variety of color patterns and fin forms, including top sword, double sword, roundtail, fantail and more. They are hardy and fecund fish which would look great as their own colony or perhaps could be introduced into a breeding program for their unique traits.
