Description

This auction is for a young, proven pair of Anomalochromis thomasi, AKA the African Butterfly Cichlid, born & raised right here in Brooklyn. These are the morph from Guinea, with blood-red eyes & bold black stripes.The fish up for auction recently paired off & are now looking after a large number of free-swimming fry. They were born in a community tank & are still living with their parents, which are also guarding a new batch of young. A. thomasi is one of the best species for someone who wants to try their hand at breeding dwarf cichlids. They're peaceful,great parents & eat anything I throw at them. Mine are fed basic & veggie flakes, with occasional treats of frozen brine & cyclops. They're also incredibly hardy & have longer lifespans compared with most other dwarf cichlids; 5-6 years isn't considered unusual.
