Description

6 juvenile, unsexed, neolamprologus multifasciatus. These are a nice fish to try as a beginner cichlid or to start working with shell dwellers. They stay small. Males grow larger than females and top out at about 2.5". They are a colony breeder so pairs are very tolerant of one another. I've never had an issue where I walked into the fish room in the morning and discovered a badly beaten multi up in a corner of the aquarium. I started my colony several years ago by winning an auction of 6 fish on AB. I ended-up with one breeding pair. Over time, in my case 12 months or so, I had multiple breeding pairs and the colony really grew. Since the bioload in the tank becomes high as the number of fish increases, weekly water changes are a must. I keep my colony in a 20 long with several inches of play sand and dozens of escargot shells. They are in hard Lake Erie tap water at 78 degrees. I feed mine Tetramin flake, Ken's earthworm flake, frozen brine shrimp, frozen bloodworms, live blackworms and live baby brine. I change half the water weekly. Going forward I will try to be very specific on how I successfully keep fish I'm offering for auction. I have a very generous refund policy(usually returning postage as well) when shipping doesn't run smoothly and fish don't fare well. However, I've a recent incident where the fish arrived in good health but the buyer later lost them. It became clear that they did no research of their own on keeping and maintaining the fish they purchased. Part of the fun of this hobby is trying to work with new and more challenging fish. But part of that process is also doing your homework before you acquire the fish. That can include researching books, magazine articles, the internet and corresponding with hobbyists that have or are presently working with the fish you are interested in. If you ever have a question about any fish I'm listing, send me a message. I'm usually pretty prompt in responding. Shipping for this auction is $20 non-refundable.
