Description

Telmatochromis sp. "Temporalis Shell" You are bidding on (8) tank raised Telmatochromis sp. "Temporalis Shell" Pic is of fry with dominant male (right) and dominant female (background left) with a subordinate male in between.   Fry have grown considerably and are now about 1.5-2".  This male spawned with at least three females and fry are a mix from each brood.  Definite harem breeder and they do breed like crazy.  Very animated and fun to watch fish.  The male patrols his turf breaking up squabbles between females.  These fish can dominate a tank, and do best with other fish that can take care of themselves.  As far as size, they max out about 2.5-3.5", so stay fairly small.  At least a 3' tank is recommended, 4-6' even better.  A bonded pair will do fine in a 20 long, but multiple females need more spaces as they don't like each other.  All of my fish are raised on New Life Spectrum food.  I keep all of my fish in moderately hard water conditions of pH 7.8-8.0, KH ~8, GH ~10 because that's how it comes out of the tap.
