Description

Polar Blue Parrot Cichlids are a hybrid fish that is the result of a successful spawn between the convict cichlid and the parrot cichlid. They are very hardy and can withstand a wide range of water parameters. Although slightly aggressive and do well in a species only tank, they can be kept with fish of similar temperaments. Their diet should consist of a good quality cichlid pellet or flake. These fish like to dig impressions into the substrate for spawning so they are best kept in a gravel or sand bottom tank. They also need plenty of caves and plants in order to establish territories to raise their fry. Juvenile polars tend to be bland in color but will brighten up as they sexually mature sporting a vivid blue color to their bodies and fins. Females may tend to have blue green and sometimes even a yellow tint to their bodies as they ready to spawn. These fish are wonderful parents and usually will not predate on their young. After eggs are laid and fertilized, the hatching process will usually take about 3 days and during this time they parents will watch over and defend the eggs from all other tank mates. It is a good idea to remove tank mates during this time. Once the fry become free swimming, (usually 3-5 days after hatching) they should be fed baby brine shrimp, banana worm, walter worms or microworms. With proper care and feeding of this fish, they become quite beautiful and are a great addition to most fish rooms and tanks. Auction winner will receive (1) polar blue cichlid. Shipping is with USPS priority mail at a cost of $15. SHIPPING POLICY I ship Monday through Wednesday only. This helps prevent loss of life due to weekend delays. I strongly urge all customers to keep a close eye on tracking using USPS tracking service. It is important that you are able to receive your package as soon as it is delivered as some species of fish and feeder cultures are very sensitive to extreme hot and cold temperatures. In most cases, I use USPS Priority Mail but some items do ship USPS First Class. Overnight mail is available upon request. After your package leaves my hands I cannot be responsible for late, delayed, damaged, lost, or stolen packages. I ship to the US only. I reserve the right to hold shipping if I feel that the weather is not within reasonable conditions. I will NOT risk the health of my stock. HOLIDAY SHIPPING POLICY I do NOT ship during holidays. If I feel that your order will not arrive without delay, I will hold shipping until the following week. I know this may be of some inconvenience but I want to make sure everyone gets a healthy package. RETURN/DOA POLICY Due to the nature of my products, I do not accept returns. If in the rare event that your culture or fish arrive dead you must send me 2 photos within 2 hours of delivery time. I will do my best to resolve any issues that you may have. **I do not guarantee live arrivals on fish that are NOT shipped express (overnight) mail.** If you have purchased a worm culture that you think may have perished during transit, do NOT throw the substrate away. It will contain viable eggs that will hatch. Instead feed and seed the culture as normal. I cannot be responsible for cultures or fish after the allotted delivery time as I cannot control how well you care for them or how long they set exposed to temperatures in mailboxes. Please note: If a replacement order of fish or a culture is needed buyer must pay for shipping. All orders will only be replaced once. If replacement attempt fails, buyer will be given a store credit for the originally ordered product excluding any shipping charges. Buyer must send email and 2 photos to: willyoueatworms@gmail.com within the same 2 hour allotted delivery time before any credit is applied. Be sure to visit my website for more beautiful fish and yummy cultures! Instructions for culturing and acclimating fish can also be found at: www.willyoueatworms.com
