Hello folks! Happy Thursday! This offering is for the Mated Pr. of Cichlasoma amazonarum you can see in the moving picture below. I just shot that about 10 minutes ago and what you see is what you are going to receive. These fish are about 3 1/2 to 4 inches long. The rest of the photo's are younger fish I was messing with over the past year or so. My good friend Ken Walker over in Ohio gave me a whole bunch of these amazonarum about 11 Months ago when they were about an inch long and I have been selling/trading and breeding etc. them ever since. These are quite rare in the USA and I am not aware of any Florida fish farms breeding them. I believe Ken got them from a breeder in the American Cichlid Association. He was able to breed his and then gave me a bunch of one inch fry. These 2 Adults are the LAST of that batch of fish and I am ready to let somebody else mess with them. They breed pretty much just like Jack Dempeys or Oscars and mine liked to lay on the top of a piece of driftwood. I found a NICE video of a Pr. breeding on YouTube if you want to check it out. These have always been very well behaved Cichlids here in my fish room although I did lose a couple Males from fighting over Females as they were maturing and starting to get sexually active but I only had them in 20 gallon tanks too. I think you could keep them with larger Tetra's, Barbs, Danio's and anything really that won't easily fit in their mouths. Like I said they are pretty hard to come by in the USA so it's a good idea to keep them spreading around in the hobby! Your certainly never going to find cichlids like this at your local Petsmart.
