They were spawned, hatched, and raised in my home. They are eating baby brine, decapsulated eggs, and crushed flake. These are the smallest of the Parachromis cichlids. Other than defending their eggs and fry they are pretty docile cichlids. They are great parents and beautiful to look at. They also actually enjoy eating hair algae. They don't do much gravel moving unless they are digging a breeding pit. These are Central American cichlids and they should be kept and bred in hard water at about 78-80F degrees.
