Adult Rainbow Cichlids, PROVEN PAIR, Herotilapia multispinosa Shown below are the actual fish you will receive, they have great parenting skills.

Sorry about the green cast to the photo, it's one of those really old 55G tanks with ridiculously thick coke bottle glass. Below are the unrelated parents with fry and below that is an uncle (mother's brother) to give you a better idea what they look like.

These have very docile personalities for cichlids. They don't go on a murderous rampage if they spawn in a large community tank. The parents may squabble but no domestic abuse. I have never been attacked when I put my hand in while they had fry. You could keep a couple of pairs in a heavily planted 55 gallon and they might even be able to raise fry. Minumum tank size for a pair is 30" long (29G) and for two pairs 48" (55G).
For the fish to be comfortable they like a planted tank with place to hide. I don't find them to be shy at all but they seem to like options, be able to hide if they get scared. Dither fish are not needed but the rainbows do tend to stay in the mid to lower levels. A smaller top dwelling fish is a good companion. I would not put rainbows with any other cichlids. A much better choice would be something like swordtails.
Few fish are as tolerant of changing conditions as the rainbow cichlid. They handle temps in the 80s down to the 60s. Hard water soft water, acid or alkaline. I keep them in medium hard water, neutral to slightly alkaline and temps in the mid 70s. They are omnivorous but MUST have some form of veggie in their diet. Veggie flakes, veggie sticks, duckweed, cooked collards or algae will all do the trick.
Again, absolute minimum tank size is 30" long (29 gallon), for two pairs it's 48" (55 gallon).
I may have additional pairs available, price varies.

Term details are on my Just Me page. Please read it before bidding. A copy of these terms is also included in this auction as commented out text and can be viewed by looking at the page source. Please do not bid if you cannot pay AND accept delivery promptly. The only reason I delay shipment is weather.
Payment is by PayPal only, no e-checks.
When paying with PayPal, you must include the address you wish the package sent to.
Priority Mail is $15 which includes a well insulated box. The fish will be triple bagged with traditional 2 mil fish bags.
USPS Hold for Pickup is available and I also offer USPS Express and UPS Air. I will only ship with a guaranteed Next Day service to locations with highs over 90F, no exceptions. The costs ($30 - $80+) may exceed the cost of the fish so email for a cost estimate before bidding. "Which should I choose?" LINKLAG is unconditional with Next Day delivery, 2 days if >50F and <85F, 3 days if >50F and <80F. Extreme weather either here or there will delay shipment.
Some of my other auctions may be combined with this for savings on shipping costs.
Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK!
