[zipedit] Tank Raised L183 Ancistrus dolichopterus

This Auction is 6 F1 tank raised Starlight Ancistrus. If you are considering the L183 I strongly suggest tank raised fish over wild caught specimens. The L183 is collected in highly oxygenated warm streams with a very low PH. This Blackwater environment makes wild L183s, especially adults, extremely susceptible to parameter shock. That shock along with the added stress of transport weakens the fishes immune system, making the fish vulnerable to an array of problems. Parasites; ich; fungus; intestinal issues; and bacterial infections are most common. Many of these are present in aquaria in minimal quantities and are normally harmless but attack and thrive on the weakened fish, which could then pass the problem on to other tank mates. Though this is a risk with all wild caught fish, Ive found the Ancistrus Dolichopterus to be abnormally sensitive.
These fish will save you the trouble and risks associated with wild fish, these were hatched born and raised in Great Lakes tap water with a PH of 7.4 and a TDS around 160. That means these fish should easily adapt to most tap water.
All Plants are grown in my Fish room under Medium low lighting <3WPG with no addition of CO2 and rare dosing of the Seachem fertilizer line and Root Tabs.
NOTE: Some plant and fish species are restricted by state and local governments, it is the buyers responsibility to know their local laws.
My fish are fed a variety of foods, the bulk of their diet consists of Golden Pearls and the various sticks available from Kens Fish, Lohachata's PLECOCAIN Capitan Bob's Sink or Swim Foods. Most of my fry are started on Micro, Walter, and Banana worms. If you are still buying generic flake from your local fish store I highly recommend you save some cash, give your fish more nutrition and support some fellow hobbyists.
SHIPPING IS INCLUDED IN THE Buy it now price but will otherwise be $35 Express Mail. NOTE SHIPPING WILL BE AT MY DISCRETION BASED ON TEMPERATURES IN YOUR AREA AND MINE. Please see my JUST ME Page for additional shipping details.
