Hello Folks! Happy Friday! This auction is for a nice box of Ancistrus. I took all the photo's for it last night while you were sleeping and what you see is what you are going to get. I will tell you exactly what you are bidding on in a second but first I want to tell you about something I learned a long time ago while running The Old Fish Building. What I learned was in most instances when hobbyists give up on spawning something the fish they give up on end up spawning right after they sell/give them away. I have seen this happen time after time. For example, I would estimate 9 out of 10 times when folks would sell me Pr's. of Angelfish I would get the same Pr. they gave up on spawning within 5-7 days after they brought them in to me. Sometimes it would take less than 48 hours to get them breeding! It wasn't cuz I am some sort of miracle worker or I knew some trick to get them to spawn it was simply because the fish were moved, they felt like drastic changes took place, their diet changed and those fish just KNEW it was time to start breeding. That's usually all it takes to get some young fish at breeding age breeding. In the wild things tend to change and they change drastically in the Spring time. Anyway, that's what I did with a large group of Green Dragon Ancistrus last night. I KNOW they are now old enough to breed and I know I have several pairs and I even know the guy I bought them all from well over a year ago (they were about 1 inch long when I got them) sells GOOD FISH so WHY aren't they breeding? It's cuz they have been STUCK in the SAME 20 long with the SAME tank mates at the same temperature eating the SAME stuff since they were babies! Here's what I did- I netted all of them out and separated them into 2 buckets, Males in one, Females in the other. Then I moved Pr's and trios all around the fish room giving them all NEW fresh caves to use and I'll bet you within 10 days every single one of these caves have eggs in them. Here's why I just told you all this- cuz if you don't know this you just might have took all these fish to your local fish store and traded them all in thinking they were too hard to spawn when actually you were just days away from getting them ALL to start spawning.Don't give up of fish early, shake them up instead! The Green Dragon Ancistrus ARE old enough to bred and outta START breeding for you shortly, these are from the large group of fish I split up I was talking about above, the L-144's were born here and will require some TIME to mature and the Brown Male and the Albino Female are perhaps 6-8 weeks away from breeding age.
