6 + 2 Albino Bristlenose

You are buying 6 fish, I am sending 8 fish or 10 fish with Buy it Now. And Priority Mail is under $10! These little guys grew really fast and are now about an inch. Instead of showing you pictures of little ABNs which look like all other baby ABNs, I figured you might like to see the parents instead. Shown is right before they spawned (look how fat she is!) and then a few days before the little ones were ready to leave the cave.

I got the male almost 5 years ago as a juvenile and he grew up to be a big fish with great bristles and orange color. I bred him a couple of times but decided to set him aside for a day when I wanted or needed a new completely unrelated male instead of buying little ones and waiting a year like I usually do.

Anyways that day came this spring and I set him up with a young female that was just bursting with eggs as you can see above. These are those fry. I often try to offer fry and youngsters from more than one set of parents so the fish you receive are not all siblings and I can do that here if you want. But these parents were not related, the fry are unusually vigorous and if fish from this spawn were bred to each other there shouldn't be any problems. FWIW, I would do it. Additional fish are available to winner.

Bristlenose really appreciate a choice of several caves and especially males will establish territories. A diet rich in fiber including fresh veggies, such as collard greens, green beans, peas and zucchini is required. Driftwood for them to rasp on is advised and will provide additional fiber and aid digestion. A high protein diet without enough fiber can cause serious problems. Average size for mature adults is roughly 4" with females usually smaller than males but the fish may range from 3" up to 5". Plan on a minimum of 10 gallons per fish at full adult size (3 to 5 years).

Ideal temps are mid 70s, do not keep these fish over 80F. Seriously, these fish are fine at 65F but struggle with temps in the 80s. I don't care what you have read saying otherwise.

If you don't see what you are looking for in my auctions, you can also buy bristlenose a la carte. Mix and match from this stocklist to get exactly what you want. The only thing I ask is that you make a minimum purchase of $25 to avoid a handling charge.

I am not offering heatpacks so no shipping to locations under 40F. Hot locations will require Next Day shipping which can be very expensive. Please look at your forecast.

Comprehensive care information will be provided to all buyers prior to shipment.

Questions? Click for email.

Term details are on my Just Me page which was updated January 18th 2013. Read it before bidding. Please do not bid if you cannot pay AND accept delivery promptly, the only reason I delay shipment is my weather.

Payment is by PayPal only, no e-checks. When paying with PayPal, you must use a shipping address. If you want shipping to an Unconfirmed address, email before bidding/buying to discuss this.

Priority Mail shipping in an insulated Regional A box is postage for 2 pounds from 01888, $5.32 to $9.88. You can check that cost yourself at usps.com, it will be much faster than asking me for a quote (use the online price). The fish will be either be in a breather bag or poly w/O2 & a well insulated box. Express Mail ($30 - $50) is required to locations with highs over 85F. Hold for Pickup is available and will be required at my discretion to destinations with hot temperatures.

LAG for 6 fish for 3 days if >45F and <85F.

Some of my other auctions may be combined with this for savings on shipping costs.

Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK!
