ABN Future Pair

You are bidding on the two unrelated fish shown below. The male is a basic golden orange fish which I expect to mature to an average size, maybe a little above average. His bristles are just starting to fill in and he is still steadily growing. The female is from a mother who was fairly small but had ridiculously large eggs which hatched out to ridiculously large fry, like 2/3" instead of 1/2". Although she has eggs in her and could spawn as soon as she has settled, she hasn't been fully conditioned and subsequent spawns would be much larger. Photo of her is over exposed a little, color's washed out.

The female is now proven. It seems she hopped the fence to hook up with the sexy male on the other side of the divider (she wasn't with the auction male). A few of the eggs were knocked loose and while maybe not quite as big as her mom's they are nice for a young female that wasn't conditioned. I am leaving the price the same as it had been, even though she's proven, until she starts to get fat with eggs again.

All material costs are rolled into the auction price, shipping is just postage and will be printed on the label. If I can ship them for less, you will be refunded the difference. The fish will be in poly bags with oxygen & in a styro lined box.

Bristlenose really appreciate a choice of several caves and especially males will establish territories. A diet rich in fiber including fresh veggies, such as collard greens, green beans, peas and zucchini is required. Driftwood for them to rasp on is advised and will provide additional fiber and aid digestion. A high protein diet without enough fiber can cause serious problems. Average size for mature adults is roughly 4" with females usually smaller than males but the fish may range from 3" up to 5". Plan on a minimum of 10 gallons per fish at adult size.

Ideal temps are mid 70s, do not keep these fish over 80F. Seriously, these fish are fine at 65F but struggle with temps in the 80s. I don't care what you have read saying otherwise.

If you don't see what you are looking for in my auctions, you can also buy bristlenose a la carte. Mix and match from this stocklist to get exactly what you want. The only thing I ask is that you make a minimum purchase of $25 to avoid a handling charge.

Comprehensive care information will be provided to all buyers prior to shipment.

Questions? Click for email.

Term details are on my Just Me page which was updated January 18th 2013. Read it before bidding. Please do not bid if you cannot pay AND accept delivery promptly, the only reason I delay shipment is my weather.

Payment is by PayPal only, no e-checks. When paying with PayPal, you must use a shipping address. If you want shipping to an Unconfirmed address, email before bidding/buying to discuss this.

Priority Mail shipping is $11.30 (exact postage for a Medium Flat Rate box). The fish will be in poly bags w/O2 & a well insulated box. Express Mail ($41) is required to locations with highs over 85F. Hold for Pickup is available and will be required at my discretion to destinations with hot temperatures.

LAG for 3 days if >45F and <85F.

Some of my other auctions may be combined with this for savings on shipping costs.

Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK!
