Listing is forL-177 Iriri Yellow Seam Pleco 3.5'' Large SpotScientific Name: Baryancistrus sp.
Common Names:
Gold Nugget Pleco "Large Spot", Rio Iriri Orange/Yellow Seam Pleco, (Orange/Yellow Fin) Kaiser Pleco, L177
Distribution:Brazil: Par, Rio Iriri
pH:5.5-7.5
Temperature: 25-30 degrees Celsius (77-86 degrees F).
A tank with dimmed lights and a good amount of hiding places (plants, driftwood, rocks, artificial caves) is ideal for this beautifully patterend catfish. This fish requires plenty of personal space, because the Gold Nugget Pleco can be very territorial and aggressive, especially towards its own kind and similar looking bottom dwellers.
It does best in soft, slightly acidic water (pH 5.5-6.5), although it can adapt to water with a higher pH. It also requires heavy oxygenation and a lot of currents. A powerful filtration system is required, as this fish produces a lot of waste due to its high-protein diet.
Diet
Herbivore/Aufwuchs-eater: will readily dry foods such as algae and spirulina pellets as well fresh vegetables such as cucumber, zucchini (courgette), egg plant (aubergine), lettuce, peas and yam. Meaty foods should be fed with extreme moderation.
