Because the MIA winner didn't pay for them, I didn't separate them and sure enough another Blessed Event. FYI, the feedback for that previous auction was in error, I mean to leave it for Bony79 and did. I asked Mark Barnett to fix it but he didn't. So she isn't that fat right now (May 25th). But this is a mature pair entering the prime of their reproductive life so she will be ripe with eggs again in no time. Those eggs have hatched, the wigglers are doing fine and it's an oversized cave so that accidental spawn will not delay shipment. The male was born here, I purchased the female as a young adult (pre-breeder) a couple of years ago. Both have had previous partners. They have been together 6 months or so and are more compatible than their previous arrangements. If you are wondering how many more years you can expect them to be fertile and interested... not sure. I just had an 8 year old female give me 75+ fry so I guess I could say this pair could have at least a few THOUSAND fry left to go. � � Mature males like this can get kind of stressed out when they don't have a proper cave so even when the fry leave the cave I will leave it in there. Obviously he will spawn in it (she is very persistent) but he doesn't like it. The CAVE, he doesn't like the cave, he likes her just fine. As a precaution, as soon as the fish are paid for I will add a divider to separate them to make sure her next spawn occurs in your tank instead of mine. These fish are too big for a 10G tank, minimum tank size is 20Gs. They are in a 20G long right now and it's Goldilocks-just-right. � � Bristlenose really appreciate a choice of several caves and especially males will establish territories. �A diet rich in fiber including fresh veggies, such as zucchini, green beans, peas and collard greens is required. Driftwood for them to rasp on is advised and will provide additional fiber and aid digestion. �A high protein diet without enough fiber can cause serious problems. �Bristlenose will mature to about 4", with extremes of 3" to 5". �Plan on a MINIMUM of 10 gallons per fish at adult size. Ideal temps are mid 70s, do not keep these fish over 80F. �Seriously, these fish are fine at 65F but struggle with temps in the 80s. �I don't care what you have read saying otherwise. If you don't see what you are looking for in my auctions, you can also buy bristlenose a la carte. Mix and match from the fish listed below to get exactly what you want. I try to keep the list current but some quantities are limited. All fish listed are standard fin. The only thing I ask is that you make a minimum purchase of $20 to avoid a handling charge.
