Proven Pair of Bristlenose These fish spawned 9/29, first time for him, third time for her. They are over a year old, born Spring 2010. The first picture is a few days after I put them together, the rest are current. These are naturally small fish, not immature or stunted fish.

I guesstimate she is a bit under 2.25" and he is 2.5"+. Spawn size is normal and egg size is above normal. In the week before spawning this female becomes so fat it is easy to mistake her for being bloated. They are not full size yet, and won't be for another year or so or more. However I would expect them to remain on the small side.
The advantage of a smaller pair is that they can be kept in a 10G tank indefinitely. I have a similar pair that is nearly 3 years old and she is 2.5" and he is a bit over 3", both a full inch shorter than average. Instead of a 20G long being the minimum tank size a 10G becomes reasonable as long as you don't try to raise all the fry in there too.
The male is doing very well guarding and tending the fry, more attentive than most first time fathers. The soonest the fry will come out of the cave is the third week of October. These fish cannot be shipped until the fry leave the cave naturally, I want the male to learn proper parenting skills.
Bristlenose really appreciate a choice of several caves and males will establish territories. A diet rich in fiber including fresh veggies, such as zucchini, green beans, peas and collard greens is required. Driftwood for them to rasp on is advised and will provide additional fiber and aid digestion. A high protein diet without enough fiber can cause serious problems.
Ideal temps are mid 70s, do not keep these fish over 80F. Seriously, these fish are fine at 65F but struggle with temps in the 80s. I don't care what you have read saying otherwise.
If your average high temps are in the mid 80s or higher, email with zip for shipping costs before bidding. I will not ship these Priority if your highs will be 85F or higher and Next Day shipping can be VERY expensive.

Term details are on my Just Me page. Please read it before bidding. A copy of these terms is also included in this auction as commented out text and can be viewed by looking at the page source. Please do not bid if you cannot pay AND accept delivery promptly. The only reason I delay shipment is weather.
Payment is by PayPal only, no e-checks.
When paying with PayPal, you must include the address you wish the package sent to, PO Boxes are okay.
Priority Mail is $18 which includes a heat pack if needed and a well insulated box. Hold for Pickup is available. The fish will be triple bagged with traditional 2 mil fish bags. I also offer USPS Express and UPS Air. I will only ship with a guaranteed Next Day service to locations with highs over 85F or lows under 25F, no exceptions. The costs ($30 - $80+) may exceed the cost of the fish so email for a cost estimate before bidding. "Which should I choose?" LINK
LAG is unconditional with Next Day delivery, 3 days if >30F and <80F.
Some of my other auctions may be combined with this for savings on shipping costs.
Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK!
