Description

Up for auction are the large-size fry in the photo, they are around 1.5 inches (the biggest one in the photo is the mother). These fish like sand/soil tanks and need to have wood to rasp on. I have two pair and they breed profusely, I have 70 of the fry (from 3 spawns) living with Red Cherry Shrimp and kuhli loaches in an 18 gallon tank and just found another clutch of eggs. . . Fish like to eat their fry the first few weeks so you have to keep them with very small-mouthed fish if you want fry. . . They like to spawn in a coconut shell cave you can make yourself - open a coconut and clean out the shell then boil it in several changes of water to remove the tannins. Mine are happy eating Omega One Veggie Rounds, no fresh vegetables and they grow quite well. 1/4 of the spawns are albino/orange, from my dark pair and from my albino pair. I think they are triradiatus. . . They have a very pretty calico pattern but when they are stressed they get really dark and it changes to just regular spots. . .
