Hello folks!
Happy August Everyone!
This offering is from over in Conrad Jr's. fishroom. He wrote me up a nice description for this offering and here it is-
I gave Pete a proven breeding group of 5 Habrosus Corys. There's 1 Male and 4 Females. Don't worry about the uneven sexes I have bred this group multiple times and the lone Male is capable of fertilizing many, many eggs and gives me good results each time I get them to spawn.
Here's how I easily spawn them.
After conditioning them on shaved frozen brine shrimp and shaved frozen bloodworms in a bare 5 1/2 gallon tank for a few days I simply unplug the heater and drop the temperature from 78 to room temperature which is about 70 degrees in my fish room via a 25% water change. They usually become instantly active and within hours I'll find eggs all over the glass. They are not ravenous egg eaters and I even sometimes find fry under the sponge filter in their tank. But really you have to either remove the parents after spawning OR scrape the eggs off the glass with a straight edge razor blade and place them in a one gallon jar to get a good amount of fry from a spawn. I usually scrape them off and I keep the jar at room temperature and I cover it with a dark plastic garbage bag for 3-4 days at which time you will start to see the eggs hatching.
I believe covering the jar aids in reducing fungus on the eggs.
After a few hours when I think all the eggs have hatched I then gently pour the entire contents of the jar into a 5 1/2 gallon. 5-50 Micron Golden Pearls and Hikari First Bites will get them through the first week or so and if you start feeding them live baby brine shrimp you will really get them growing fast. I have Great Lakes hard water and these fish not only live in it, they spawn regularly and their fry do well in it also. The spawning group I gave Pete are wild caught fish.
I also gave Pete a pair of my tank raised Danio erythromicrons. These are truly a nano fish BUT if you are serious about breeding both these species you should keep these Danio's separate. The danio's, while small, will relish the Cory eggs and the cory's will love the danio eggs too. These danio's are also easy to breed. Place the pair in a 5 1/2 gallon tank with glass marbles on the bottom (or coarse gravel). I also add a couple small sinking mops to the tank for cover and to give the danio's a spawning point BUT the eggs are not adhesive and you won't find any to pick in those mops. The eggs will fall through the mops into the glass marbles though! After 3 days remove the pair and wait. Soon enough you will see tiny "eyelashes" sticking to the glass. Don't feed until they become free swimming which is about a day after you see them stuck to the glass and once again 5-50 micron golden pearls will get them through the first week until they can take larger foods. Their fry are surprisingly tough and hardy and I recommend them as a first danio. These danios seem to do well for me at a constant 76 degrees. I also gave Pete some soft type hornwort which can be substituted for the mops if you also use a light above your spawning tanks.
Holy cow Conrad, that was a lot of typing, can you E Mail me your notes next time? LOL!
To sum up-
You will receive a proven breeding group of 5 Corydoras Habrosus along with a sexed Pr. of D. erythromicron PLUS all the stuff you can read about below.
Folks this is a nice box-o-stuff to spawn. These Corydoras will most likely spawn right here in my fish room while I am holding them and once you get a group spawning it's hard to stop them! Try this offering out!
In fact, I have some brand new glass marbles here in my fish room and if you want me to send them to you I will! I will also send you some high quality foods for these adults and I will even send you a Microworm culture if you ask me too.
Conrad might not use Microworms for his fry but us old timers do!
Shipping is always FREE with my offerings and I Guarantee live arrival of REAL NICE healthy stuff!
