Description

If you bid, you are bidding on 6 young Black Venezuelius SCHULTZI Cories that are just coming up on 1" in size. Because of the toxins they secrete to protect themselves in the wild that can kill the Cory when trapped in a bag, shipping smaller and younger Cory is always the best option. For details on the toxin, email me. It's in every Cory. These are F2 Cory from a mix of a half dozen from one supplier and a half dozen of my own from my original wilds. The strain should be strong and true for at least another 4-5 generations because of crossing them as I have. The wild parents took me 3 years to get to spawn, but these have taken less than a year to spawn twice. So it seems with each generation getting more used to being tank housed, they accept the conditions and spawn more easily. The Wilds would only spawn on vegetation in fast moving currents, while this generation is spawning right on the glass of the tank in normal current. Since they won't spawn for the first 11-12 months as they must mature, I'm GUESSING this F line will spawn as quickly as the parents they come from. I'll not share my views on the conversations about the Blacks being Aeneus or Schultzi on here, but will answer as to why I specifically identify these as Schultzi if you ask in an email. Selling younger fish also reduces the weight of the parcel. I only ship using UPS methods at this time as our USPS has "lost" too many of my shipments in the past half year to allow me to trust Priority Mail or Express. Neither of those options offer any guarantee of delivery any way, while UPS does. FedEx, in this area, is as bad as the USPS, so it's UPS only. 2-5 Day Ground generally starts right around $20 for almost all continnental locations. I am in Lower Michigan. Depending on the distance between us, UPS guarantees the fish will be delivered within 3 days of shipping. From the East Coast to the Rockies has never taken more than 2 days. West of the Rockies is almost always 3. If you live in "the wilderness" as some of my customers do, then it can take up to 5 days for delivery. I do need to know how close you are to a UPS station when we work out the details, so please keep that in mind. It does affect how they are packed. The fish are good in mild weather for up to 5 full days if packed as I do in Styrofoam lined boxes with higher oxygen ratios in the bags. Because these are more rare Cory and you're paying a higher price for them, I will guarantee the fish ONLY, even though I can not control their handling by the carrier. Please take a picture of any DOA immediately, with the fish cut in half, and we'll work out the details of getting you replacements once you re pay for shipping. I do generally put an extra in the parcel, so it would have to be 2 or more DOA before we begin the replacement process. I am a small time breeder and only offer fish when I have fry large enough for people to buy. I do not import or export, and do not have a beef with those that do. I sell to help pay for my hobby's costs, not as a business. I try to buy my stock from the most reputable and well known Cory breeders so that when I do have fry to offer, I know they are not coming from bled out stock. If you have any questions, please click on ask the seller a question and send it to me. I'll get back to you as soon as I am able, hopefully with your answer. (There's still a ton I need to learn after 45 years in this hobby). Buyer or not, I hope you have a great day and enjoy your browsing of all the offers on this page as there are some really cool auctions up right now. Have fun, and mostly, enjoy the hobby.
