It is timid peaceful fish that is very active and should be kept in small group of no less than 4 fish, being in a group makes them feel safe and become more active. It is not a colorful fish but an intriguing one, it is continuously foraging and looking for food all around every leaf and small spaces where there is organic bio film to feed on. Otocinclus should be added to a cycled stable and established planted aquarium. They grow to a maximum size of 2 inches but mostly they are a little smaller 1" or so. In the wild they inhabit south america rain forest waterways that have lots of vegetation. SHIPPING INFORMATION We ship all of our packages out of our fish farm located in Sarasota, Florida. All the order will be shipped 2-3 days after your purchase. We purge all the live animals before shipping in order to make them travel safe. All of our packages are shipped via FedEx Second Day Air and/or FedEx Standard Overnight if live animals are included in the order. FedEx overnight orders will be shipped Monday to Thursday only arriving no later than Friday afternoon every week. FedEx 2day orders will be shipped Monday to Wednesday only arriving no later than Friday every week. USPS Priority shipping service will be used for plants and dry goods only. No live animals will be shipped with USPS shipping. USPS orders will be shipped Monday to Wednesday only arriving no later than Saturday every week. All the orders payed on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be shipped the next week. We do use 72 hours heat/cold packs when necessary. We do use O2 for all shipments of live animals. We currently do not ship when the weather is below 40 F or above 95 F during the day in the customer area.
