bioAquatiX Synodontis Petricola 'Dwarf' 1"-1.25" This African catfish is native from Lake Tanganyika; It is silver white in color with black spots arranged in a leopard-like pattern. This catfish grows to about 4-5 inches. The male are slender and have a higher dorsal fin, while females are wider and not as white as the male. bioAquatiX has been breeding this catfish for many years. This is a schooling catfish that prefers the company of its own kind and is an excellent all around swimmer. Contrary to other synodontis, this one does not seem sensitive to bright lights in the aquarium and does not enjoy hiding as much as his cousin the synodontis Petricola. This catfish is omnivores and will eat anything from vegetable to more meaty food. It is not a picky eater, but prefers meat based over vegetable based food. They do well individually or in small groups It is a peaceful catfish, but will eat very small aquarium fish. This catfish is known to hold its own with most aquarium cichlids found in the aquarium hobby. This synodontis is a great aquarium fish that does very well in most aquarium setup. We purge all the fish for at least 48 hrs before shipping. We currently do not ship when the weather is below 40 F during the day in the customer area. BioAquatix reserve the right to determine when is the best day to ship your product when the weather and possible other factors are in play. We do use O2 on all shipments. We do use 72 hours heat packs when necessary. We also use cold packs when necessary. We recommend using USPS hold for pick up when the weather is getting cold lows in the 40 F at night. The coldest time for the shipment is in the truck on the final leg of the trip. No guarantee live arrival when using USPS priority. We do replace the live fish, but customer will pay shipping again. We only guarantee live arrival on FedEx overnight.
