These are progeny of the pictured pair in the video (my apologies for its poor quality, my photo tanks are down due to re-building the layout of my hatchery). All are P size currently - larger than their size in the video which was shot a couple of weeks ago (see size codes below) and are nicely developing color - which unfortunately is poorly captured on the video owing to "make-do" lighting. They're on crushed flakes but I still recommend freshly hatched brine shrimp to supercharge growth when possible. They're at an age that ships excellently and are safe even for neophytes so long as you keep them in at least a 15g to 20g bare-bottom tank by themselves and regularly maintain their tank and practice good and consistent husbandry.

Advantages of this size/quantity format: foremost, you get a good cross-section of the what the parent pair produces and therefore no negative surprises since the majority's ideal traits are tell-tale of the lineage's (not just a limited quantity in a spawn-size of hundreds - which you won't know if you purchased a smaller quantity of older fish); the higher the average quantity of a given color to white area ratio the better the odds or producing like ratios and better. Plus they're more inclined to spawning a bit sooner relative to purchasing larger fish since they've way acclimated to your water conditions by the time they hit sexual maturity. Lastly, and best yet, you have a good quantity of fish to select breeders from. End of auction additionals will be available.

RECEEDING BLACK PIGMENTATION IN MY KOI LINEAGES

For those unfamiliar with my Kois, besides the fact that they were developed some 13yrs back independent of anyone else's lineage of kois (vis-a-vis using imported goldmarble and blushing stock), the majority of individuals sporting an excessively dark area above the lateral line upwards and/or has a solid posterior half-black- like pattern, will more than likely lose about 99% of black-peppering on the top half of either flanks and 20% to 95% of heavy black posterior markings. Below is a short video clip and accompanying pictorial which I collected over a 22 month period.
