This is a natural pairing of 2 F1'S from an Ultra-High Coverage Vermilion Koi x 75% Manacapuru scalare lineage outcross. The true significance of this pairing isn't so much the pairing itself but the fact that you get the best of both worlds; i.e. my Koi lineage (I used a heterozygous red-orange Koi with a 95% ratio of color to white) as well as a wild blood lineage all in one package. The return is obvious, lesser amount of generations in order to realize color rebound and secondly and the genetic benefits on health and fecundity. This, like many of my pairs will parent and therefore can be used to keep an angelfish's nurturing instinct in the wild intact. I use this pair as a surrogate for any pulled spawns and as the video shows, they do their job way more than satisfactorily. Lastly, my video software isn't 100% compatible with Windows 7 and therefore the clip's aspect ratio is terribly off. Aspect ratio is the relationship between length and height.

HOUSE OF ORANGE KOIS

For those unfamiliar with my Kois, they were developed some 12yrs ago using imported non-Koi bloodlines from Asia and Europe. This means that I developed them independent of existing lineages and to date they re main as 1 of 4 independent Koi lin eages in the US. If you�re a Koi enthusiast, you�ll most likely know who the other 3 are (though one appears to have possibly gone extinct....and it ain't mine either lol).

If you�re a casual hobbyist, this won�t matter but if you breed angels, this is significant and key to why they're excellent out-cross material. Alternatively, they ca n be us ed as foundation stock for a Koi breeding program. It's no wonder why the majority of my Koi customers here and elsewhere are either professional breeders themselves as well as hobbyist-breeders.

Note: Tiger Orange Kois - 3 phases, Vermilion Kois - 4 phases, Sunset Blushings - 2 to 3 (doesn�t have a phase 1 and transitory phases are dependent on whether they came from Tigers or Verms), Vermilion Marble Blushings � 4 (extended color development timeframe compared to any of the above).
