These 4 half-dollar'ish VEILS are from my Tiger-Orange lineage. Development wise, they're anywhere from latent phase 3 (with transitory black-peppering almost all gone). What they lack finnage conformation they much more than compensate for in color attributes; hence they carry very little discount. Each row of 2 pictures represents both of sides of each fish. The individual in the first row looks like its posterior half-black pattern is only now beginning to transition. How much of the pattern will recede is hard to tell but the average reduction is anywhere from 20% to 90%.

HOUSE OF ORANGE KOIS

For those unfamiliar with my Kois, they were developed some 12yrs ago using imported non-Koi bloodlines from Asia and Europe. This means that I developed them independent of existing lineages and to date they remain as 1 of 4 independent Koi lineages in the US. If you�re a Koi enthusiast, you�ll most likely know who the other 3 are (though o ne appears to ha ve possibly gone extinct....and it ain't mine either).

If you�re a casual hobbyist, this won�t matter but if you breed angels, this is significant and key to why they're excellent out-cross material. Alternatively, they can be used as foundation stock for a Koi breeding program. It's no wonder why the majority of my Koi customers here and elsewhere are either professional breeders themselves as well as hobbyist-breeders.

Note: Tiger Orange Kois - 3 phases, Vermilion Kois - 4 phases, Sunset Blushings - 2 to 3 (doesn�t have a phase 1 and transitory phases are dependent on whether they came from Tigers or Verms), Vermilion Marble Blushings � 4 (extended color development timeframe compared to any of the above).
