Description

TERRAPINS AUCTIONS AT AQUABID.COM
The majority of individuals in my Kois sporting one or a combination of 3 traits - black dots randomly distributed on both sides of their body, areas of yellow coloring, and a solid almost crisply de-markated posterior pattern highly reminiscent of a half-black's posterior pattern, will transition out of these characteristics as they grow/mature (certainly well within their first year subsequent to hatching. This means that those "black peppering" randomly distributed dots will disappear; yellows transition into either or a combination of orange-yellow, orange, red-orange; and lastly, 60% to 99% of their initial solid black colored posterior's 1/2 black pattern will disappear. These traits are present in this auction's nickel-to-q uarter sized stock. All 5 are nicely developing their permanent colors and are between phases 2 to 4 (refer to pictorial below).

Of even greater significance is my Kois sporting the half-black pattern that recedes, as darkly marked as they were initially, have all turned out to be heterozygour Kois so far (at least in those that I've kept for breeding purposes). Its nature is still being studied and if possible at all, my goal is to isolate its possible cross-varietal inheritability. Here's a thread that I wrote some time back, : http://www.angelfish.net/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=19262&highlight=homos.

THANK YOU FOR VISITING AND HAPPY BIDDING!

If you want a quick quote on shipping your zip will do however, please understand that it will have an accuracy deviation of +/- 20% due to zoning type, locale access, and carrier presence. If youd like a close to 100% accuracy I will need your full preferred shipping address (home, work or other location). If you select USPS, best contact your local PO to ensure that it supports a Guaranteed 24 Hr, Class of Service sin ce I have found their website qualifi er to be somewhat inaccurate. HAWAII Residents will need to be able to acquire an import permit from the Hawaii State Dept of Agriculture (tel# 808-586-0844). Th e paperwork will ask you to declare what you will be importing, in this case you will need to state pterophyllum scalare sp domesticated freshwater Angelfish. If you are unable to secure a legal permit, please do not bid on the auction.

AUCTION STOCK CLIP(WYSIWYG)
finish the entire clip to truly appreciate their colors, especially their red-orange colors that are now developing

HOUSE OF ORANGE KOIS

For those unfamiliar with my Kois, they were developed some 12yrs ago using imported non-Koi bloodlines from Asia and Europe. This means that I developed them independent of existing lineages and to date they remain as 1 of 4 independent Koi lineages in the US. If youre a Koi enthusiast, youll most likely know who the other 3 are (one may have possibly gone extinct, and it ain't mine LOL).

If youre a casual hobbyist, this wont matter but if you breed angels, this is significant. They make for perfect outcross resources. Alternatively, they can be used as foundation stock for a Koi breeding probram. It's no wonder why the majority of my Koi customers here and elsewhere are either professional breeders themselves as well as hobbyist-breeders.

Note: Tiger Orange Kois - 3 phases, Vermilion Kois - 4 phases, Sunset Blushings - 2 to 3 (doesnt have a phase 1 and transitory phases are dependent on whether they came from Tigers or Verms), Vermilion Marble Blushings 4 (extended color development timeframe compared to any of the above).
