Description

This auction is for six young Macropodus spechti. They're about half grown right now, between 1" and 2" body length. These fish are active and easy to feed, currently eating frozen and various flake foods. Be warned that when the males start to nest they can become quite aggressive; either keep them in a tank with lots of eye-line breaks for prepare to separate males when they mature. The ancestors of this group were caught in Vietnam so they're not likely to be as cold-hardy as regular Paradise Fish (Macropodus opercularis.) That said, this group was raised outside and seemed fine at temps down to the mid-50s F. The inset photo is of two adult males from the previous generation of these fish, the larger photo is of the actual fish to list. Their colors lighten and darken depending on mood. Shipping is $15 fixed within the lower US.
