Description

This auction is for 6 adult Rhinogobius gobies. I've never gotten a convincing species identification of these but they resemble R. formosanus.

These fish are quite easy to keep, and fairy peaceful; I keep a group of 5 in a 24" x 12" tank with several caves for the males. They eat frozen or pellet foods but generally ignore floating foods like flakes.

A healthy pair will spawn frequently. The females get bright blue bellies when ready to lay eggs. Spawning generally happens on the roof of a cave; eggs are numerous and tiny. I raised the fry in brackish water with rotifers as a first food, and HUFA-enriched live and pellet food until they settled. For more details about breeding Rhinogobius species, see my article here.

Make sure there's a lid on your tank! This kind of migratory goby is designed to jump and climb up stream.

Shipping + packaging is $20 for USPS priority in the continental US.
