This listing is for 6 young Rhinogobius. The attached photo shows an adult male. Actual fish up for auction are the offspring of the fish shown and will be 3 to 5 cm long.
The identification of this species is unclear; they closely resemble formosanus but the original fish were collected in mainland Asia and not Taiwan.
When fully grown these fish will be 10-15 cm long. They're generally quite peaceful and tend to hug the bottom. Males occasionally spar for territory; if you provide a cave for each male then everything should be fine. I keep a group of six in a 15 gallon tank.
This species lays many tiny eggs; the fry are large for goby fry but require brackish water and rotifers or other microfoods to be reared to adulthood. It's not as hard as it sounds; I've raised several batches with little difficulty. For more details about care and breeding, consult my article here.
These fish will eat most sinking foods but are unlikely to survive on a flake-only diet. I feed mine sinking bug bites, frozen bloodworms, and frozen brine shrimp.
Shipping is $15 for USPS priority mail. I can combine at least two orders in a single box. The weather looks OK next week but your order may be delayed or refunded if it gets too hot to safely ship.
