Hello folks! Happy April Everyone! This offering is for 5 Freshwater South American Puffers, Colomesus asellus.Last week I offered 3 and received so many E Mails asking about side deals and buying extra puffers at the winning bid price I have decided to up the ante a little bit! There's NO side deals on my fish folks, I put Months of my time into many of the fish I offer. These puffers are CLEAN, HEALTHY, full bellied, ich free fish! Trust me when I tell you that is usually NOT the way they arrive to the USA. These are the most peaceful and active of all the freshwater puffers and when I owned the old fish building I kept these in planted tanks with Rummy Nose Tetra's and Cardinals with ZERO issues. It made for a great display tank AND walk in customers could actual SEE they were not attacking and eating the smaller colorful Tetra's which made them a hot commodity when we had them around! These puffers are actually schoolers and you always want to have at least 3 or more of them in your tank otherwise they tend to become nervous and hide a good amount of the time. The fish I will send you are all between about 1 1/2 inch long and 1 3/4 of an inch long and were wild caught. I had one that lived 9 years at the old fish building! These fish will aggressively eat any of the basic frozen foods we use to feed our fish. They LOVE Frozen Bloodworms. Mysis, Brine Shrimp etc. and at feeding time they will swim around your tank and search out each and every scrap of frozen foods that may have gotten into your plants or made it to the bottom. They also are constantly hunting for snails and they will comb through every nook and cranny of your tank looking for them. There is a newer frozen fish food on the market sold as "Frozen Clams On The Half Shell" that ALL puffers just go crazy for. It's made by Ocean Nutrition and you outta try picking up some of those too. The puffers will scrape the clam meat out of the shells which also grinds down their teeth at the same time. If you do pick up some of those Frozen Clams On The Half Shell here's what else goes nut for them- all LOACHES and all spiny eels. Try it! It's fun watching fish swimming around dragging a clam shell all over the place and after they finish off all the meat the shells make for pretty cool decorations too! These are always hard to find so give them a try! If you have tried Spotted Puffers or Figure 8's in the past and they beat the crap out of everything including each other these South American Puffers are NOT like that. They do GREAT in planted tanks and are an all around cool to maintain fish. They are also 100% FRESHWATER and do not need or desire ANY salt in their water. They live in the same type of water as the rest of the South American fish do.Just about the only bad thing I can say about these puffers is they DO and WILL eat snails. If you like snails, like I do, then do NOT put these in tanks with snails! Don't say I didn't warn you! Try these puffers out! They are NOT easy to get and well worth keeping.!
