"> Natural Astaxanthin Powder 4oz 4 ounces of Astaxanthin (pronounced /�st??z�n??n/) is a carotenoid. The primary natural source for astaxanthin is the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis. This highly concentrated form of natural astaxanthin has been carefully formulated into a fine, free flowing dark red powder and is an essential nutritional requirement for keeping your Red fish that bright red color. It has been successfully used for pigmenting marine shrimp, rainbow trout, salmon, sea bream, and ornamental fish, and koi. Enrichment of rotifers, Artemia, and daphnia is achieved by direct feeding of Astaxanthin in tanks and are also used as a superior larval feed. Fresh feeds made in a "batch" fashion by aquaculturists raising tropical fish or shrimp broodstock have reported improved growth, survival and pigmentation as no heat is required during the feed processing. Astaxanthin can be blended directly into these feeds and will offer excellent stability while frozen.
