APR – Artificial Plankton and Rotifers

I am pleased to offer 9g of APR – Artificial Plankton and Rotifers in a snap cap vial for easy use and storage. Plus a 15g vial of Ultra Fine Spirulina powder.  This potent combination will amaze you in terms of the growth you will see in spawns of very small fry.  The amount offered is suitable for rearing many spawns and is the perfect food for newly free swimming Betta, Rainbow, Cyprinid, Discus, Cory and virtually all fry that need very small food on the order of green water for the first few days. You can follow it with micro worms or newly hatched or de-capped BBS depending on your fry. What it will do is to drastically cut your losses due to small fry starving out in the first couple days.

Beginning with the APR.  The tiniest pinch on the end of a knife blade will feed surface feeding fry, or make an emulsion in a little tank water in a jar and feed with a dropper. A very little of this goes a very long way! So be careful not to overfeed and do keep your vial in the fridge for a long shelf life.

A.P.R. is a microencapsulated feed that can be used as a replacement feed for rotifers (Brachiounus plicatillis) making great food for feeding larval shrimp and fish. Its high fatty acid and protein profile will produce post-larvae of uniform size. Particle size is approximately 50-100 microns. APR is tested for hydrostability. It is highly digestible to provide maximum nutritional efficiency and uptake.

Protein 44.5%, Fat 39.4%, Carbohydrate 8.8%, Ash (Minerals) 4.6%, Moisture 2.2%, Fiber 0.4%

Here is a professional application note showing how amazingly potent this feed is and how far a little will go, underlines are mine:

"Application: to feed 4 million shrimp (Penaus monodon), original stocking density, in a 50-ton water tank, add an average of 60 g/day during the zoel stages, 75 g/day during the mysid stages, and 50 g/day during the PL stages, until PL20 is reached.”

As I said, 9g will go a long way, and larval shrimp are as small as it gets, so it is quite bite size for Bettas and other small fry in the hobby!!!!!!!! If you are a serious breeder or new to breeding, this food will dramatically increase your fry survival rates.
